Industrial Design
Post- graduation project at UTSAAH Lab, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore
Project lead: Deval Karia
Mentor: Dr. Jignesh Khakhar

Overview
Role
LifeBox is a heart preservation device designed to prolong the out-of-body viable time of a heart harvested from a deceased donor, as it is transported from the donor hospital to the recipient hospital.
As the Industrial Designer on the project, I was responsible for the design of the organ health evaluation system from research to concept development to prototyping. I worked closely with surgeons- to understand the current state of organ preservation technology, clinical flows and procedures; and the engineering team at UTSAAH-to meet the technical requirements.

*Due to a Non Disclosure Agreement signed with UTSAAH Lab, I am not able to share details on the project. However, I will be more than happy to discuss the process, learnings and experiences from the project with you, when we connect!
